Technical Advisory Committee

Purpose of the Committee

The Office of Planning is committed to an open and inclusive planning process. Direct input from community leaders and other stakeholders is a critical component of any successful plan. The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)’s purpose is to help ensure a smooth, efficient process that is equitable, technically sound, enjoys broad public and agency support, and results in a plan that complements the District efforts in combating climate change and reducing emissions. Furthermore, the TAC will help the Office of Planning identify community partners that will adopt the recommendation of NSIPP and be willing to help track data. The TAC’s role is to provide OP/DDOE and their consultants with a third-party review of NSIPP deliverables and work, be a source of comments/suggestions and vision and direction for NSIPP. The TAC’s role in reviewing NSIPP and advising OP/DDOE and their consultants is to bring to their attention improvements to the process and deliverables as it relates to both sustainability and area specific needs, concerns and opportunities.

In order to accomplish its goals, the membership of TAC should represent people that have both a recognizable knowledge and role in sustainability and knowledge of the locality. Residency in the Pilot area is not a requirement for the membership in the TAC, however, it is a plus.
